Expect More from Your Talent Acquisition Partner

TYGES has been blessed to be in business for nearly 18 years. We got in right at 9/11 and thrived. We survived the 08-09 recession. We are now faced with the repercussions of COVID-19.

We continue to work hard during this time and thrive because we live through our mission, “We’re here to make good things happen for other people.” We build our company system, process, and culture through the lenses of our core values- Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Determination, and Courage with the last two being very important when we are in seasons like today. The reality of it all is that we will not be deterred or afraid of what has happened, what is happening, or what will happen as we keep these values in front of us.

One of the things we deployed about five years ago is “Net Promoter Score” as we truly wanted to hear the feedback from our customers, both companies and people. When we got into it, we were told that good scores operate near the 50 mark. I’m proud to say we were well above that when we started but more importantly, we have been consistently in the low 80’s over the past couple of years. This is a credit to our culture, our team members, and our values. In good times and in bad, we will honor our values and follow our process.

What has amazed me though are the comments that come back from the surveys – here are some examples:

  1. You followed up like you said you would – that’s not typical for recruiters.
  2. You were honest with me and did what you said you would do.
  3. You were helpful beyond what I expected.

There are numerous other comments we have praising our team at TYGES.  Not all feedback has been positive but it has been helpful. We’ve received feedback that has caused us to pause, review our process, modify that process, and retrain our staff to ultimately fix something. This is part of our journey to continue to get better each day in living out our mission.

The scary part for me in seeing comments like the ones listed above is that the bar is set so low. This should be a call to action by all talent acquisition firms to step up their game and get an identity around the values that they live into, measure, and follow up on. We all need to strive to have our customers expect superior results from us each and every day.

If you’re working with a recruiting firm, you need to expect more from all of us.

Tim Saumier started his recruiting career when he opened TYGES International back in July 2002 after purchasing a franchise from MRINetwork. He has grown the business from start-up office in 2002 to where it is today helping clients around the world solve their talent acquisition problems. While he does place people with companies, he brings much more through his consultative coaching with both companies and individuals hence the reason he has built long-lasting relationships that continue to work with TYGES.

Prior to starting TYGES, Tim spent thirteen years in corporate America with companies like John Deere, Moen, and Philips where he had the opportunity to work in supply chain, operations, and engineering during his career.
